Physical Description: The San Joaquin River Oxbow Preserve is a 30 acre riparian forest preserve located adjacent to the San Joaquin river within the city of Lathrop, in San Joaquin County. The preserve was created in 2004 by Union Pacific Homes as mitigation for their development in the city of Lathrop. The Center became owner of the preserve in September 2004. 
Habitat Types: The preserve is a mixed age riparian forest. Valley oaks, cottonwoods, willows, elderberry and wild rose are common within the preserve. 
Conservation Purpose: The Preserve was established to protect the Federally Endangered riparian brush rabbit. The Preserve also provides habitat for the State Threatened Swainson's hawk. Over 75 species of birds have been identified within the Preserve. 
Management:
The Center for Natural Lands Management owns the preserve and oversees the restoration and long-term management.
