Physical Description:  The Connolly Ranch Conservation Easement is located on the west side of the San Joaquin Valley in the hills southwest of Tracy.  It was established in 1991 on a private ranch in San Joaquin County.

Connolly Ranch

Conservation Purpose:  The conservation easement was established for the preservation and management of the San Joaquin kit fox and its habitat.

Habitat Types:  The easement is located in grasslands on moderate to steep rolling hills.  Common plants include the annual grasses,  Bromus diandrus, Bromus mollis, and Hordeum leporinum.

Management:  The grantor of the easement reserved the right to continue its existing grazing operations, a use which is generally compatible with kit fox habitat requirements.  No public access rights are provided by the easement.   The Center monitors and inspects for compliance with the easement several times per year and advises the landowner on appropriate grazing
