Habitat Types and Sensitive Species: The conservation area supports a number of habitat types, including sycamore woodland, coastal sage scrub, chaparral and native grassland. It also supports sensitive plant and animal species, such as the coastal California gnatcatcher, least Bell’s vireo and thread-leaved brodiaea.

Code Management: Management is primarily focused on habitat restoration, removing nonnative plant species, estimating plant and animal population numbers, habitat assessments and public outreach.

Formation and History: The Center received the properties between 2006-2008 from McMillin Homes as part of their mitigation obligations for the Calavera Hills and Robertson Ranch developments.

Public Access: There are two public trails on the property. One trail is within the parcel known as Village H, just off Carlsbad Village Drive and the other starts at the intersection of College and Carlsbad Village Drive and leads to Lake Calavera (Village U).
