Physical Description: The Rancho Del Oro Habitat Conservation Area is located along Oceanside Boulevard, between Rancho Del Oro and El Camino Real in the City of Oceanside, California. The property borders Loma Alta Creek and is approximately 19 acres.

Rancho Del Oro Habitat Conservation Area

Habitat Types and Sensitive Species: The property supports primarily southern willow scrub that is under restoration. Additionally, there is coastal sage scrub and coast live oak woodland.

Management: The majority of the property is undergoing restoration activities to restore degraded willow woodland, coastal sage scrub and oak woodland. The Center is monitoring for the presence of coastal California gnatcatchers, least Bell’s vireo and wildlife movement.

Formation and History: The property was set aside in 2009 by the North County Transit District as mitigation for the Sprinter Rail project.

Public Access: No public access is allowed.
